Tiger Shroff lit up the evening at the India Today Mind Rocks 2018 Delhi event that is taking place at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in the capital. The Baaghi actor’s session was titled Twinkle Toes and Flying Fists: Growing Up In Bollywood.
Tiger, the son of actor Jackie Shroff and Ayesha Shroff, made his Bollywood debut with Heropanti in 2014. So how did Jai Hemant Shroff become Tiger?
JAI HEMANT SHROFF TO TIGER SHROFF
I used to scratch and bite people when I was a kid. That’s why my dad began calling me Tiger.
TIGER AND HIS RIPPED BODY: DAILY ROUTINE
Nutrition, your diet, discipline. It is all about being disciplined. When I’m not shooting, I pretty much just train throughout the day. I go to dance classes in the morning, then gymnastics in the evening.
DANCE OR ACTION
I love dancing. Because in action, I keep getting hurt. So I like dancing more.
ON MICHAEL JACKSON, HIS IDOL
I was 4 or 5 years old when I saw the video of Thriller. Since then, I have been fascinated by Michael Jackson. I watch a lot of cartoons. I get inspired by them… Dragonball Z.
GOING UP AGAINST HRITHIK ROSHAN
I have always been inspired by Hrithik Sir. I am very nervous. Whatever I have achieved so far, is because of my inspiration, Hrithik Sir. It will be tough to dance and do action against Hrithik. I hope I don’t freeze in front of him.
ON STUDENT OF THE YEAR 2
My first time working with Dharma. Stepping into the shoes of Varun, Sidharth and Alia. It’s a fun and light film. Get ready for a crazy fun film.
ON TROLLING AND BEING ‘DIFFERENT LOOKING’
I was very different looking. I was very young, I was not getting any facial hair. People would make fun of me by saying, ‘who is this, gora chikna’. When my film came out and was loved, the victory was so much sweeter. I love the youth. They and their love keep me going. It is a compliment for me if they tell me I look like Kareena Kapoor.
Keep an eye on food and eating. Everyone knows about fitness. The health industry is so strong these days.
ON RELATIONSHIP WITH DISHA PATANI
We can be friends also na? There is more. We are very good friends. She is just… she is very inspiring and hardworking. She doesn’t take the good looks and talent to her head. Even after her success, she hasn’t changed.
ON TROLLING AND NEGATIVITY
I used to cry a lot. I used to think becoming a hero is easy, but it is not. I realised I’m not the only one who gets the negativity; others do too.
ON BEING A STUDENT
I never went to college. I was offered my first film when I was out of Class 12. I never got to experience college life.
