What is the Software Development Life Cycle? Introduction to the SDLC

Programming software or an application can be somewhat stressful at times, especially when it comes to coding different parts of a big project. Thus, having a system in place that allows you to take the development process step-by-step without feeling overwhelmed is essential to producing a high-quality piece of software.

This is exactly what the SDLC is – a system of activities that includes several stages or phases and when followed, ensures that you have a good understanding of the task at hand while also eliminating error as much as possible.

In this article, we'll be deep diving into these stages and what each of them includes.

Business Analysis or Discovery Phase

First, you have to plan. There's no such thing as too much planning and if you miss out even one minor detail during this stage, you could find yourself having to revise the entire project.

During the analysis stage, there are a few things that you need to do. You should start by brainstorming and coming up with some ideas to base your project on. For example, if you were developing a new booking system for a hotel, you could consider linking hotel bookings with restaurants bookings – one of many possibilities.

Make sure that the ideas which you come up with are in accordance with your customer's (or your own) requirements so that you're sticking to the original task while being creative and coming up with innovative ideas.

It's also important that you keep in mind the available timeframe, costs, and resources so that you do not end up developing something that your customer's computer system is not capable of handling, that they can not afford, or that would take a ridiculously long time to program.

All in all, this stage is for you to get a better idea of what the final piece of software should look like like this will be what your work is based of.

At this point in the SDLC, you should have all of the information that you need to make a brief start on the software development and even come up with a basic prototype – at the very least, you should be able to construct a more detailed breakdown of the project than you had before. It's worth taking the time to do a brief prototype so that you and your customers can see your ideas in action and gather some feedback.

Now, after detailing the development project as thoroughly as you can, split it up into smaller tasks. If you're working with a team of developers, then this is also a good time to split up the tasks accordingly so that everyone is familiar with what role they will be taking on and begin preparing.

Design

This stage is relatively simple, in comparison to the other stages of the SDLC, and typically includes a system analyst and the lead developer. They discuss the system that the software is going to be installed on, any limitations that the system has which would be relevant to the software functionality, and they make sure that the proposed issue will not encounter any major issues once it has been implemented.

Following on from the Systems Analysis stage, a more complex prototype may be created so that all involved parties can gain a better understanding of what the final product will look like and scope out any problems that might arise.

Before moving onto the next stage, which is programming, the lead developer will confirm all of the plans that have been created and ensured that the client's needs are going to be satisfied, before proceeding and starting the main development.

Programming

There is not a lot to discuss regarding this stage other than it's time for you to get to work! Put everything that you've planned for into place, begin your programming, and develop a piece of software that you're satisfied with.

One thing worth keeping in mind is that even though you will have gathered all of the information that you need earlier on, if you're unsure of any of the job requirements then contact your client – there's no shame in clearing up any uncertainties and they will not criticize you for doing so.

Testing

Testing the coded program is important. This is not as simple as running the program, using each of the features once, then calling it quits – you have to conduct thorough testing while several parties while using some testing methods.

  • Without overcomplicating things, below are some of the things to keep in mind during the testing phase.
  • When you interact with the program or enter data (input), are you provided with the output that you expect?
  • Can each of the program's features be easily identified and do they function as they should?
  • Does the program fulfil its initial purpose?
  • Does the program run efficiently and make good use of the computer system's resources?
  • Are there any improvements that you can make?

After excessively testing your program to make sure that there's nothing wrong with it, you're ready to implement it.

However, if you find that there are problems or that improvements could be made, be sure to fix them before you continue. Remember to take a note of the bugs that you encountered as well as you fixed those bugs – this is useful in case you experience any related bugs in the future.

Implementation

Finally, it's time to implement the software into the environment that it is intended for. This is the final stage of the SDLC and includes setting up the software on the intended computer system, any other systems that it will be required on, and walking through your client how to use it.

You should also consider putting together a basic user guide, depending on the complexity of your program, so that they have a great understanding and they do not need to contact you every time that they have a question or query. Handing out user guides will also make it easier to explain the software to large groups of people.

What's Next?

Now that the software has been created from scratch and is installed and set up as it should be, you can put your feet up and relax.

While not an official stage, after the implementation of the software that you programmed, you should be prepared for maintenance. Generally, maintenance reiterates any changes that your client wants to have made to the software, any updates, or fixing any bugs that arise.

Some software development projects will require maintenance while others will not, therefore, it is not considered a stage of the SDLC.

To Conclude …

This might seem like an excess software development model despite following the SDLC, software developers and engineers are able to ensure that they do not make silly (yet vital) mistakes and, as a result, create a piece of software which surpasses their client's expectations.

Having this type of process in place ensures that you are on the right track and given that you'll be constantly going over the notes that you've taken during the planning stage, you'll unduly avoid any uncertainties from wreaking havoc and causing you to start from scratch.

An Introduction To Vending Machines

The very first vending machine was said to have been invented by Hero of Alexandria, a 1st century inventor. His machine accepted a coin and then dispensed a fixed amount of “holy water.”

Basically, a vending machine is a machine that dispenses merchandise after a customer deposits money. Vending machines have a currency detector which determines if the money inserted is sufficient to purchase the desired item.

Common locations where vending machines are usually placed include: next to the entrances/exits, next to the water fountain, in front of the restroom, in the break room, by the coffee maker, next to the other vending machines, by the receptionist, next to the cash register, next to the listening station at a music store, next to the change machine or in the waiting area.

The items sold in vending machine vary. In the U.S. vending machines may even carry alcoholic beverages such as beer and cigarettes. This practice is increasingly rare though, due to concerns about underage buyers. I

n Japan, there seems to be no limits to what is sold by vending machines. These include: drinks and cigarettes, bottles of wine, cartons of beer and pairs of underwear. Japan has the highest number of vending machines per capita, with about one machine for every 23 people.

Vending machines are classified mainly according to the products it carries. Below are just some of them:

Newspaper vending machines

With newspaper vending machines, a customer could open the box and make off with all of the newspapers after paying for one. Such assumes that the customer will be honest.

Candy vending machines

Candy vending machines are mechanical machines that vend a handful of candy, a bouncy ball, or perhaps a capsule with a small toy or jewelry, for one or two quarters.

Soda snack/vending machines

Soda/snack vending machines are, as the name suggests, sell cans or bottles of soda and/or small packages of snacks. For operators, soda/snack machines have the advantage that many locations recognize their need for such machines.

Specialized Vending

Specialized vending machines are those that dispense personal products, typically in public toilet facilities. These vending machines are often found in toilets used by transient persons in high traffic locations, such as bus stations and truck stops.

The machines in ladies restrooms typically sell sanitary napkins, tampons and tissue paper. In men’s rooms, the vending machines contain tissue paper, cleansers and sometimes condoms.

These vending machines use a spiral kind of mechanism to separate and to hold the products. When the machine vends, the spiral turns, thus pushing the product forward and falling down to be vended.

Most vending machines are designed as large safes. They have also been extensively tested and designed to inhibit theft. Like any machines, vending machines are susceptible to malfunction. The causes are many-fold.

Coin acceptors often jam up, especially if a child inserts a bill or other foreign object into the coin slot. Bill validators sometimes falsely reject a legal tender bill that happens to be crumpled, ripped, or dirty. Vending machines usually have a phone number that angry users can call for service.

One of the newest vending innovations is telemetry, which is made possible by the advent of reliable, affordable wireless technology. With telemetry, data can be transmitted to a remote headquarters for use in scheduling a route stop, detecting component failure or verifying collection information.

A Brief Introduction to Artificial Intelligence

We all know that Siri, Google Now, and Cortana are all intelligent digital personal assistants on various platforms (iOS, Android, and Windows Mobile). In short, they help find useful information when you ask for it is using your voice; you can say “Where’s the nearest Indian restaurant?”, “What’s on my schedule today?”, “Remind me to call Mom or Dad at eight o’clock,” and the assistant will respond by finding information, relaying information from your phone, or sending commands to other apps.

AI is important in these apps, as they collect information on your requests and use that information to better recognize your speech and serve you results that are tailored to your preferences. Microsoft says that Cortana “continually learns about its user” and that it will eventually develop the ability to anticipate users’ needs. Virtual personal assistants process a huge amount of data from a variety of sources to learn about users and be more effective in helping them organize and track their information.

Your smartphone, calculator, video games, car, bank & your house all use artificial intelligence daily; sometimes it’s obvious what its’ doing, like when you ask Siri to get you directions to the nearest gas station. Sometimes it’s less obvious, like when you make an abnormal purchase on your credit card and don’t get a fraud alert from your bank. AI is everywhere, and it’s making a huge difference in our lives every day.

So, we can say that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the branch of computer sciences that emphasizes the development of intelligence machines, thinking and working like humans. For example, speech recognition, problem-solving, learning and planning. Today, Artificial Intelligence is a very popular subject that is widely discussed in the technology and business circles. Many experts and industry analysts argue that AI or machine learning is the future – but if we look around, we are convinced that it’s not the future – it is the present.

Yes, the technology is in its initial phase and more and more companies are investing resources in machine learning, indicating a robust growth in AI products and apps soon. Artificial intelligence or machine intelligence is the simulation of human intelligence processes by machines, especially computer systems.

What is the use of AI?

Vision systems. The need to interpret, fully understand and make sense of visual input on the computer, i.e. AI is used to try and interpret and understand an image – industrial, military use, satellite photo interpretation.

What is the purpose of AI?

When AI researchers first began to aim for the goal of artificial intelligence, a main interest was human reasoning… The specific functions that are programmed to a computer may be able to account for many of the requirements that allow it to match human intelligence

What is an ASI artificial intelligence?

A superintelligence is a hypothetical agent that possesses intelligence far surpassing that of the brightest and most gifted human minds.

What is the goal of AI?

Colloquially, the term “artificial intelligence” is applied when a machine mimics “cognitive” functions that humans associate with other human minds, such as “learning” and “problem solving”. General intelligence is among the field’s long-term goals.

What are the different types of AI?

We need to overcome the boundaries that define the four different types of artificial intelligence, the barriers that separate machines from us – and us from them.

Type I AI: Reactive machines

Type II AI: Limited memory

Type III AI: Theory of mind

Type IV AI: Self-awareness

Is computer vision part of AI?

Artificial intelligence and computer vision share other topics such as pattern recognition and learning techniques. Consequently, computer vision is sometimes seen as a part of the artificial intelligence field or the computer science field in general.

Is machine learning the same as artificial intelligence?

Increasingly, machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) are cropping up as solutions for handling data. The two are often used interchangeably, and although there are some parallels, they’re not the same thing.

What are the fields of artificial intelligence?

· List of applications

· Optical character recognition.

· Handwriting recognition.

· Speech recognition.

· Face recognition.

· Artificial creativity.

· Computer vision, Virtual reality and Image processing.

· Diagnosis (AI)

· Game theory and Strategic planning.

How important is Artificial Intelligence?

AI is the machines which are designed and programmed in such a manner that they and think and act like a human. Artificial Intelligence becomes the important part of our daily life. Our life is changed by AI because this technology is used in a wide area of day to day services.

For most of us, the most obvious results of the improved powers of AI are neat new gadgets and experiences such as smart speakers, or being able to unlock your iPhone with your face. But AI is also poised to reinvent other areas of life. One is health care. Hospitals in India are testing software that checks images of a person’s retina for signs of diabetic retinopathy, a condition frequently diagnosed too late to prevent vision loss. Machine learning is vital to projects in autonomous driving, where it allows a vehicle to make sense of its surroundings. Artificial intelligence is already present in plenty of applications, from search algorithms and tools you use every day to bionic limbs for the disabled.

Sometimes it seems like every other website, app, or productivity tool is citing AI as the secret ingredient in their recipe for success. What’s less common is an explanation of what AI is, why it’s so cool, and how companies are leveraging it to provide better user experiences. If you don’t know much about AI, the absence of an explanation can be confusing. Today, the field of artificial intelligence is more vibrant than ever and some believe that we’re on the threshold of discoveries that could change human society irreversibly, for better or worse.

Introduction to Different Types of Camera Lenses

A camera lens is one of the important components of a camera. It is also popular under the name of a photographic lens or photographic objective. It is an optical lens or collection of lenses used in combination with a camera body to form images of objects. The images are formed either on photographic film or any other media capable to store images chemically or electronically.

The lenses found in different imaging devices such as a still camera, telescope, video camera or a microscope work on the same principle. The difference arises only in the detailed design and construction.

These devices are of many types. Some of the prominent ones include:

Zoom lens
It is a mechanical set of lens elements for which the focal length variates with the movement of internal elements. The device is used on a large scale in cameras and binoculars these days in order to bring distant objects closer. The devices are also known as para focal lenses because they can uphold the focus of the image even while changing the focal length. These gadgets have made it easy for photographers to capture even the far-away objects clearly and effectively. As a result, their demand and popularity among photographers is increasing day by day. Two popular types of zoom found in cameras these days is optical zoom and digital zoom.

Standard lenses
These are used for street photography and documentary that demand quick movement and action. With the rise in popularity for street photography and documentary, the demand for quality lenses is also increasing. The devices support a focal length range of 35-70mm.

Special-purpose
Some of the major special-purposes lenses are fish-eye, infrared, ultraviolet, swivel, stereoscopic, process, soft focus, etc. All these devices play a significant role in photography enabling one capture better and sharp images even in low lighting conditions.

Macro
This type of lens is used primarily in macro or "close-up" photography. It produces an image on the focal plane, which is of the same size or larger than the subject being imaged. It can support any focal length. The key factors that determine the focal length include its practical use, magnification, access to the subject, required ratio and illumination considerations.

Portrait
These devices are also known as medium telephoto lenses. The devices are mainly used by the portrait photographer who mainly requires a focal range between 80-135mm. This much focal length offers perfect framing for head and shoulder shots. The gadgets are reasonably priced and deliver extraordinary results.

All these devices play a momentous role in photography. Many leading brands today have come up with the new camera lenses that are stylish, user-friendly and capable of delivering state-of-the-art performance. The best of all, these devices are also available online these days to save your valuable time and effort. Several camera lens stores have come into existence providing buyers a number of choices in terms of product, brand, model and styles.

In addition to a broad variety, fast shipping and high-quality, the store members also provide customers a secure and calm environment to shop.

Introduction To OOP (Object Oriented Programming)

Programming has two “methods” through which you’re able to create modern applications – object oriented and form centric.

There’s no “benefit” to using either (they both have their advantages & disadvantages) – the key thing is to realize that if you’re looking at creating certain applications, you may need to use object orientation as the basis of its data structure.

  • Object oriented design essentially means that you create a single “application” and then provide the user with the ability to create, manage and destroy “objects” through a single instance of the system.
  • Form based design does the opposite – providing the user with the ability to edit “data” through a series of “forms” that will appear at different times within the application. These forms will typically not “hold state” and will be independent to each other.

To understand how this works, you need to appreciate the core underlying way that “programming” works.

Essentially, ALL programming works on the premise of having a central “data” set (which can either be stored in a database, or just in memory as an array or something) and then having inputs & outputs to help the user manage this data.

ALL computer programs work this way – by giving the user various ways to “manage” an underlying data-set. The way they do this is determined by the type of “programming” design you employed when creating the application.

To better describe – the “process” of a computer application is always the same… input → process → output. EVERY time you use a computer application, this is what’s happening. You’re giving the computer a command (input), it will process this command – and then allow you to see the output with the new data.

If you’re using an object oriented system, it’s typically the case that you’ll end up with a single way through which you’re able to manage the various data-sets on the screen.

This is known as being “stateful” — whereby the system will initialize with one instance of an application, and then allow users to “invoke” new variables through a number of different methods. These variables are held in memory, allowing for them to be edited alongside each other. The best example of this is games. Whenever you “load” a game, you’re just invoking an instance of an application, which then means that various “objects” are able to be loaded into the work area.

If you’re using form based system – you’re basically using forms to change specific elements of data. These forms are predominantly stateless – meaning that they have to recreate the data-set each time they are submitted. The best modern example of form-based design is the “web browser” (and, subsequently, most websites). Each “page” you load is basically a form – with the ability to “submit” other forms to change the data a service may manage for you.

A Brief Introduction to Artificial Intelligence For Normal People

Lately, artificial intelligence has been very much the hot topic in Silicon Valley and the broader tech scene. To those of us involved in that scene it feels like an incredible momentum is building around the topic, with all kinds of building AI into the core of their business. There has also been a rise in AI-related university courses which is seeing a wave of extremely bright new talent rolling into the employment market. But this is not a simple case of confirmation bias – interest in the topic has been on the rise since mid-2014.

The noise around the subject is only going to increase, and for the layman it is all very confusing. Depending on what you read, it's easy to believe that we're headed for an apocalyptic Skynet-style obliteration at the hands of cold, calculating supercomputers, or that we're all going to live forever as purely digital entities in some kind of cloud -based artificial world. In other words, either The Terminator or The Matrix are imminently about to become disturbingly prophetic.

Should we be worried or excited? And what does it all mean?

Will robots take over the world?

When I jumped onto the AI bandwagon in late 2014, I knew very little about it. Although I have been involved with web technologies for over 20 years, I hold an English Literature degree and am more engaged with the business and creative capabilities of technology than the science behind it. I was drawn to AI because of its positive potential, but when I read warnings from the likes of Stephen Hawking about the apocalyptic dangers lurking in our future, I naturally became as concerned as anyone else would.

So I did what I normally do when something worries me: I started learning about it so that I could understand it. More than a year's worth of constant reading, talking, listening, watching, tinkering and studying has led me to a pretty solid understanding of what it all means, and I want to spend the next few paragraphs sharing that knowledge in the hopes of enlightening anyone else who is curious but naively afraid of this amazing new world.

Oh, if you just want the answer to the headline above, the answer is: yes, they will. Sorry.

How the machines have learned to learn

The first thing I discovered was that artificial intelligence, as an industry term, has actually been going since 1956, and has had multiple booms and busts in that period. In the 1960s the AI industry was batting in a golden era of research with Western governments, universities and big businesses throwing enormous amounts of money at the sector in the hopes of building a brave new world. But in the mid seventies, when it became apparent that AI was not delivering on its promise, the industry bubble burst and the funding discharged up. In the 1980s, as computers became more popular, another AI boom emerged with similar levels of mind-boggling investment being poured into various enterprises. But, again, the sector failed to deliver and the inevitable bust followed.

To understand why these booms failed to stick, you first need to understand what artificial intelligence actually is. The short answer to that (and believe me, there are very very long answers out there) is that AI is a number of different overlapping technologies which broadly deal with the challenge of how to use data to make a decision about something. It incorporates a lot of different disciplines and technologies (Big Data or Internet of Things, anyone?) But the most important one is a concept called machine learning.

Machine learning basically involves feeding computers large amounts of data and letting them analyze that data to extract patterns from which they can draw conclusions. You have probably seen this in action with face recognition technology (such as on Facebook or modern digital cameras and smartphones), where the computer can identify and frame human faces in photographs. In order to do this, the computers are referencing an intense library of photos of people's faces and have learned to spot the characteristics of a human face from shapes and colors averaged out over a dataset of hundreds of millions of different examples. This process is basically the same for any application of machine learning, from fraud detection (analyzing purchasing patterns from credit card purchase histories) to generic art (analyzing patterns in paintings and randomly generating pictures using those learned patterns).

As you may imagine, crunching through intense datasets to extract patterns requires a LOT of computer processing power. In the 1960s they simply did not have machines powerful enough to do it, which is why that boom failed. In the 1980s the computers were powerful enough, but they discovered that machines only learn effectively when the volume of data being fed to them is large enough, and they were unable to source large enough amounts of data to feed the machines.

Then came the internet. Not only did it solve the computing problem once and for all through the innovations of cloud computing – which essentially allows us to access as many processors as we need at the touch of a button – but people on the internet have been generating more data every day than has ever been produced in the entire history of planet earth. The amount of data being produced on a constant basis is absolutely mind-boggling.

What this means for machine learning is significant: we now have more than enough data to truly start training our machines. Think of the number of photos on Facebook and you start to understand why their facial recognition technology is so accurate.

There is now no major barrier (that we currently know of) preventing AI from achieving its potential. We are only just starting to work out what we can do with it.

When the computers will think for themselves

There is a famous scene from the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey where Dave, the main character, is slowly disabling the artificial intelligence mainframe (called "Hal") after the latter has malfunctioned and decided to try and kill all the humans on the space station it was meant to be running. Hal, the AI, protests Dave's actions and eerily proclaims that it is afraid of dying.

This movie illustrates one of the big fears surrounding AI in general, which what will happen once the computers start to think for them instead of being controlled by humans. The fear is valid: we are already working with machine learning constructs called neural networks which structures are based on the neurons in the human brain. With neural nets, the data is fed in and then processed through a vastly complex network of interconnected points that build connections between concepts in much the same way as associative human memory does. This means that computers are slowly starting to build up a library of not just patterns, but also concepts which ultimately lead to the basic foundations of understanding instead of just recognition.

Imagine you are looking at a photograph of somebody's face. When you first see the photo, a lot of things happen in your brain: first, you recognize that it is a human face. Next, you may recognize that it is male or female, young or old, black or white, etc. You will also have a quick decision from your brain about whether you recognize the face, although sometimes the recognition requires deeper thinking depending on how often you have been exposed to this particular face (the experience of recognizing a person but not knowing straight away from where ). All of this happens pretty much instantly, and computers are already capable of doing all of this too, at almost the same speed. For example, Facebook can not only identify faces, but can also tell you who the face belongs to, if said person is also on Facebook. Google has technology that can identify the race, age and other characteristics of a person based just on a photo of their face. We have come a long way since the 1950s.

But true artificial intelligence – which is referred to as Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), where the machine is as advanced as a human brain – is a long way off. Machines can recognize faces, but they still do not really know what a face is. For example, you might look at a human face and infer a lot of things that are drawn from a hugely complicated mesh of different memories, learnings and feelings. You might look at a photo of a woman and guess that she is a mother, which in turn may make you assume that she is selfless, or indeed the opposite depending on your own experiences of mothers and motherhood. A man might look at the same photo and find the woman attractive which will lead him to make positive assumptions about her personality (confirmation bias again), or conversely find that she resembles a crazy ex girlfriend who will inevitably make him feel negatively towards the woman . These richly varied but often ilogical thoughts and experiences are what drive humans to the various behaviors – good and bad – that characterize our race. Desperation often leads to innovation, fear leads to aggression, and so on.

For computers to truly be dangerous, they need some of these emotional compulsions, but this is a very rich, complex and multi-layered tapestry of different concepts that is very difficult to train a computer on, no matter how advanced neural networks may be. We will get there one day, but there is plenty of time to make sure that when computers do achieve AGI, we will still be able to switch them off if needed.

Meanwhile, the advances currently being made are finding more and more useful applications in the human world. Driverless cars, instant translations, AI mobile phone assistants, websites that design themselves ! All of these advances are intended to make our lives better, and as such we should not be afraid but rather excited about our artificial intelligence future.

Dear Friend and

‘Would Be’
Horse rider!

This exciting and new discovery helps you get the most out of your
riding lessons even before you start! If you really want to learn to
horseback ride then this letter could be the most important one you
ever read!

Fear of failure, or making yourself look a complete idiot stops many
people from learning to ride at all.

That and the fact that they already know just how expensive riding
lessons are, really puts them off. Supposing they are no good at it?
Supposing they are too afraid? Supposing they just don’t turn out to
like it and have wasted those bucks unnecessarily?

     Whether you are 5
or 50 and contemplating the grand new experience of horseback riding,
don’t let a little thing like lack of confidence, good old fashioned
fear put you off, or worry about whether you can afford it, put you
off. No, the thing to do is to find a way to learn that both give you
confidence AND saves you money at the SAME time!

A little fear is a good thing.  It stimulates the adrenalin that
makes you perform better and makes you more in tune with your
objective.  They say that if you are going to do some public
speaking and you are not at least a little nervous beforehand then you
won’t give it your best.  Adrenalin is a great stimulant to great
things.  But what you do need is the confidence to master your
fear and to do it anyway.  Susan Jeffers book ‘Feel the Fear and
do it anyway’ is a bestseller;
she shows very clearly what can be achieved if you go for it, and what
joys overcoming your fears can bring.

     That’s the fear bit
dealt with. That just leaves you worrying about the money – the cost
of expensive riding lessons when you don’t even know how many you will
need.

So, what you need here is a way to feel in control of the
fear and the excitement and expectation, plus a way to reduce the cost
of this fabulous new experience you are about to have, and I’ve got
just the thing!

So, What’s Different About My Approach To Riding?

Well, simply this.  I absolutely know the value of riding
lessons, and I would never suggest that you don’t need them
at all.
BUT my approach is that, in order to make the most of those lessons
and greatly reduce the number you may need, you MUST do some
preparation beforehand:

Now, if you are only 5 years old then you know no fear! That’s left to
the newbie adult riders and to your Mum and Dad as they watch you in
the saddle for the first time! (especially if they are not riders
themselves – bet that rings a few bells doesn’t it…)

So, what would make:

All

feel better at the same time?

Its simple – it’s that word again – Preparation.

But WHY?

Makes Sense Doesn’t It?

Finally that leaves your
checking account! Well, quite frankly your account is going to
be hit

hard

by how much all the riding  lessons are going to cost you.  So if
some good preparation will mean you need fewer lessons then the cost
goes down and you don’t get overdrawn! Your account stays in the black

The conclusion is simple – buy yourself this great new eBook –
prepare yourself properly for the best new experience you’ve had in
years – save loads of bucks – keep safe – and enjoy it all a whole lot
more! Then you may well win that rosette. How’s that for a summary!

Now Lets Look At Some Of The Reasons Why You Really Should Start
Horseback Riding Today!

Just consider the following:

Have you ever wanted to go
on a trail ride?

Gets You Fitter

And Guys, this doesn’t only work for women!

Even if you don’t need to lose weight this

wonderful form of exercise will benefit you too.  Lets face it
you could hardly call this lovely pastime, exercise at all, could you.
Its pure pleasure! It sure beats a sweaty workout in the gym for me.

Puts the fun and passion back in your life

Puts you back in touch with the wonders of Mother Nature

Sports are on the menu again!

Opens up new vacation options

I plan to
move to Spain next year, and one of the things I want to do is buy
some horses, for my children and myself. Riding looks so easy in
the movies, but I know that isn’t the case. So I was looking for
an easy to follow guide, covering everything from saddling a horse
to caring for a horse and what to look for when buying a horse.
These and more were exactly what I found in the book “Introduction
to Horseback Riding”. This book is packed full of useful
information and tips, I particularly like the section on ‘thinking
like a horse’.
If you
are thinking about horse riding and need a good introduction, then
you should check it out at

Now, have I whetted your appetite for a whole new way of life?

If your answer is YES then we have a new ebook that could

dramatically change your life
– starting today!

How Can One eBook Change Your Life?

Great question! When many people think of learning to horseback ride,
they think of some
time-consuming trips to a riding academy, and long lessons. Perhaps
you have already taken some expensive lessons yourself, and were
discouraged by how long it took to learn even the basics. Today, there
is a

In one inexpensive ebook you will learn more about horseback riding
than you ever dreamed possible – through sensible, simple tips that
are

Why Learning Through An Ebook Makes Sense

For
Any Horseback

Riding
Enthusiast!

The simple fact is, for many of us, starting with horseback riding
lessons is designed to fail. If you don’t know whether you are really
interested in horseback riding, what is the use of expensive lessons

before
you even begin? Plus, most riding lessons are located well outside the
city, forcing most of us to make a large commute to get out there. If
you are learning horseback riding as an adult, you may feel silly
floundering about on a horse in front of an all-ages class. And of,
course, the

cost
of horseback riding lessons can be very high.

Doesn’t It Make More Sense To Learn The Basics Of Horseback
Riding Before You Ever Drive Out To See A Real Live Horse?

Think about it….

If you knew the basics of  how to ride a horse before you drove
out to see one, you’d save money on lessons to gain the basic
understanding of horseback riding. In fact, you might well be able to
take fewer lessons to improve your techniques. You’d already

have all you need for basic riding
and trail rides. Plus, when you ride under qualified guidance you’d

gain confidence
by then being on a horse, which means you’d

actually be building on your knowledge as you rode along.
Isn’t that better than
feeling silly and lacking knowledge of even the words they use right
from the outset.

This isn’t about replacing the lessons completely – No, this is about
preparing you to really enjoy getting in that saddle for the first
time – replacing some of the ‘fear factor’ with the confidence to know
that you have done a bit of preparation and feel armed with some
really helpful and comforting knowledge to help you enjoy that first
lesson moreAND especially knowing that you could get that far in the
most cost effective and cheapest way available to you! Now that just
makes YOU downright Smart, doesn’t it?

Plus, you’d stay safer, since you’d already know what to do and what
not to do.

     My
ebook “Introduction to Horseback Riding” does this for you.

What You Really
Need To Know To Feel Safe And Confident The First Time You Sit In
The Saddle……

If you are just starting out with horseback riding, you want to focus
on the information you need to get you in the saddle and to keep you

there

safely
as you ride.   And let’s face it, when we are learning
something new it is so difficult to take in all the information we are
given verbally.  If you have it written down, and can read it
through several times before you get to the first lesson, how much
better would that make you feel? Wouldn’t it be great to be able to
take what the Instructor is saying because it is familiar to you – so
that you can concentrate on staying in the saddle rather than

the instructions that are being thrust at you so
quickly.  So many instructions all at once can send you into
information overload, and then you can’t remember a word of it and
feel silly – does this make you feel like a failure before you even
start? I know it does with me.

After all, how many of you passed an exam or learnt to drive without
reading the manuals first? ? Did you pick up a chisel to do
woodworking without first getting a book to show you how? This applies
to nearly everything you can think of that requires some skill to
master.  So surely you need to prepare for your horseback riding
lessons in the same way to make your new hobby a really enjoyable
success right from the start!

Your information has
been of great help to me.  I have recently taken Tina, an
ex-racehorse/broodmare.  I used to work on a farm when I was
younger, mostly draft horses, but it gets you, (that horse bug I
mean).  Anyway I am now 53 years young  and have started
getting Tina ready to be re-saddled and ridden again as she has
not had a rider on her back for 4 years now.  She is 15
years young – a couple of youngsters together eh!!

I have not ridden a
horse in …oh 25 years.  I have been using a lot of your
tip’s and hint’s they are helping me a lot to re-educate her
It will take a lot of time patience and T.L.C. I will keep you
informed of how things go.

You may already have read the testimonials earlier, but here’s one
more.  All of these testimonials are from people just like yourself…

I
first just want to say “thank you” for featuring my appy “Chief”
and me on your screen saver.  It is so neat to see him there, and
know that other people get to see the love of my life also.

I love your web site and weekly e-mails.  I have learned so much
helpful tips and information. Thank you for all of the hard work
you put into it.

We own 4 horses, 3 of which were rescue horses (including Chief).
There is so much more work on these types of horses.  They have
such huge trust issues, and are so malnourished.  I would love to
see some future issues on the love and hard work that is required
for these horses.  I think a lot of horse lovers would help in
rescuing these horses if they new that there was help and advice
for them out there.  I pretty much winged it, with the help of my
wonderful vet of course.

Again, thanks for your work to help all of us!  I look forward to
every issue.

A Brief Introduction To Bluetooth

Bluetooth was designed to allow low bandwidth wireless
connections to become easy to use so even those who
are new to wireless can use them. Version one.One of
Bluetooth describes a low power, short range wireless
networking technology that uses radio waves to send
data at rates up to 720 kilobits a second.

Bluetooth Spec

The specification for Bluetooth supplies for different
classes of radio that allow transmission ranges of
up to 100 meters by boosting the radio power. The
technology of Bluetooth is not limited to line of
sight transmission since it uses directional waves
that are capable of transmitting through many
obstructions.

Industry Standard

Bluetooth is an industry standard communication of
wireless, meaning that it enables the connection
of other devices as well, such as cell phones,
computers, digital cameras, & other types of
electronic devices. The specification of Bluetooth
defines a radio system and a "stack" of protocol
layers and profiles. The highest layer is the
application layer, while the lowest layer is the
radio.

The wireless technology of Bluetooth is positioned
to revolutionize the personal connectivity market
by providing freedom from inconvenient fixed type
lines.

The specification for Bluetooth eliminates the need
for cables by providing a small form factor, low
cost wireless solution that will link computers,
cell phones, and other electronics. Bluetooth
also allows users to connect many ranges of devices
fast and easily and expansions communications
capacities as well.

The size of the Bluetooth radio is remarkable, as a
Bluetooth radio can be built into 1 or two very
small microchips then integrated into any electronic
device where wireless operations would be an
advantage.

Bluetooth also offers a robust link, which ensures
that normal operating circumstances are not
interrupted by interference from other signals
that are operating in the same frequency band.

Also known for its worldwide operation, Bluetooth
radio operates in the 2.four GHz frequency band, which
is license free and reachable to any type of
radio system in the world. No matter where you
are in the world, you count on Bluetooth to work.

Security is also important. Offering advanced
security mechanisms, Bluetooth ensures a high level
of security. Therefore, authentication will
prevent unauthorized acess to important data and
make it very difficult to listen in.

Bluetooth also boasts power optimization. The radio
is power friendly and the software for Bluetooth
is very configurable, limiting the power consumption
of equipment. The radio itself only consumes a
small amount of power from a cellular phone.
