Sahitya Aaj Tak is back. New Delhi will get to experience the mega lit fest from November 16-18. The three-day extravaganza will be a confluence of poetry, prose, music, drama and even politics during which art lovers will get to meet their literary idols whom they so far have been able to worship only through their masterpieces. Stalwarts from fields such as sports and theatre will be present as well.

Sahitya Aaj Tak will be held at the capital’s Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts.

This festival, organised by Aaj Tak, will mark its third year this time around.

The festival will see the presence of literary stalwarts renowned for their works in Hindi, Urdu, English, Awadhi, Bhojpuri and Punjabi.

The festival will have sessions in which top TV anchors will interact with guests from various fields like art, cinema, music, theatre, and politics.

In its very first year (2016), Sahitya Aaj Tak was organised as a two-day festival in which Anupam Kher, Javed Akhtar, Najeeb Jung, Rahat Indori among others were present. The festival provided platform to promising young authors who presented their works. Sessions on literature, culture and theatre got great response.

In the year 2017, Sahitya Aaj Tak brought sports icons as well as stalwarts from theatre and politics together with giants in the field of literature. ‘Gardish mein Taaren’, a play directed by Arif Zakaria and Sonali Kulkarni was showcased in the festival that year.

The celebration of art and all that it stands for will be even grander in Sahitya Aaj Tak 2018

This time around, singers Javed Ali, Malini Awasthi and the legendary Wadali brothers will be in attendance. Actor and poet Piyush Mishra, screenwriter Prasoon Joshi and the great Javed Akhtar will enthral the audience with the magic in their words. Actors Deepti Naval and Shekhar Suman will talk about theatre while journalist Sagarika Ghose and Governor of Goa Mridula Sinha will share their wisdom on politics.

Many more celebrities like actor Annu Kapoor, writer Chetan Bhagat, Shayar Rahat Indori will be present will a great many others.

Cultural programmes will accompany the sessions. Sahitya Aaj Tak will be divided into 100 sessions in which more than 200 guests from various fields will be in attendance.
