External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj today said that passports damaged in Kerala floods will be replaced free of cost. Unprecedented floods in Kerala have caused severe damage to the state.

“We have decided that as the situation becomes normal, passports damaged on account of (sic) floods shall be replaced free of charge. Please contact the concerned Passport Kendras,” Swaraj tweeted today.

As many as 37 people have lost their lives in Kerala floods and landslides. No fresh casualties, however, have been reported since yesterday.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh today conducted an aerial survey of some affected areas.
