Delhi cop's son sent me viral video, said I would be next: Ex-girlfriend

An ex-girlfriend of Rohit Tomar, the son of a Delhi Police officer and the man arrested beating up a woman in a viral video, has come forward and said that he sent her that video along with a threatening message.

The ex-girlfriend said Rohit threatened to beat her up in a similar manner if she did not agree to marry him. She also said that she did not know the woman in the viral video.

Speaking to India Today TV, the girl said she had broken up with Rohit a few months ago. She said Rohit wanted to marry her, and had been threatening her even since she refused.

The ex-girlfriend also said that Rohit came to her house on September 11, and misbehaved with her.

Following the September 11 incident, the ex-girlfriend said, she approached Robot’s father, Ashok Tomar, a police officer. But Ashok too threatened her, saying Rohit and he had objectionable pictures and videos of the girl that they would release, the ex-girlfriend said.

After Rohit misbehaved with her on September 11, the ex-girlfriend went to Tilak Nagar Police Station in New Delhi to register a complaint. A case under sections 354, 323 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against Rohit Tomar. Ashok Tomar has been booked under Section 506 of the IPC.

Ashok Tomar is currently absconding while Rohit was arrested on September after the video of him thrashing a woman went viral.

WHAT HAPPENED ON SEPTEMBER 14?

Rohit Tomar was arrested after a video of him mercilessly beating a woman inside a BPO in Delhi’s Uttam Nagar area went viral. The victim (who was beaten up in the video) filed a complaint against Rohit and also alleged that she was raped.

The victim said Rohit had called her to the BPO in Uttam Nagar and raped her. After she said she would go to the police, Rohit beat her up.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh also called up the Delhi Police commissioner and asked him to take necessary action in the case.
